Janani Janmabhoomischa Swargadapi Gariyasi...

After defeating Ravan in the war, Vibheeshan requested Ram and Laxman to visit Lanka.

Ram and Laxman were absolutely struck by the beauty of Lanka. The ponds were crystal clear and the way to get into was studded with diamonds and precious stones. The buildings were of fine architecture and the roads were very neat.

Ram was spell bound and was getting attracted to the beauty of Lanka. But he refrained himself from further seeing the beauty of Lanka by saying

Which translates to - "Dear LAXMAN, may be Lanka is truly Golden and resembles heaven but the mother and the motherland are more sacred than heaven”.

Wishing “
A VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY” to our beloved 62 year old mom.

She may not be the most beautiful. She may not be the wealthiest. She may not be the strongest. But she is my mom and I love her.

I wish and pray all her children will pay due attention and respect to her. Not just on her birthday but also for the rest of 364 days in a year.

I am really proud of the independence that we gained. But is it enough if we wish each other on the 15th and 26th. We spend the entire year trying to evade taxes, not following traffic rules, creating panic in the name of Swine Flu, look for opportunities to get green card. I hope one day India gets a patriotic citizens. Mera Bharat Mahaan, but Bharat Mata Pareshaan

@Nagraj : Couldn't agree more. In fact same "patriotic" citizen who celebrate 15th August, crushes national flag under their vehicle or feet on very next day.

Just like crops, patriotism is also "seasonal" in India. This "patriotic" season lasts for just one day!

We have 120 crore citizen but very few "Indians".

Agree with the comments above. Its the consciousness that's missing altogether.
However, it is an occasion to acknowledge & celebrate the spirit of our past who gave us this freedom.
Happy Independence day to us. :)
P.S : btw, loved the new layout.

Well put! Happy Independence Day to all of us! Let us all live up to what our forefathers fought for! And that means banishing all superstitions, discrimination, terror and fear!
